Founder’s Diary- YOUTUBE LAUNCH!

Thoughts from THNA Founder Jody Dontje

Dear diary,

Words cannot express the immense excitement I am feeling right now, just having pressed ‘Publish’ on The Help Nepal Appeal’s NEW YouTube Channel.

The Help Nepal Appeal (THNA)- Empowerment Transparency Storytelling | Non-for-profit Charity

This video profoundly resinates with me, as it allows for whole-hearted self-reflection on how far I have come personally as a human being and how immensely proud I am of all the people who have been and are involved with THNA.

Even with this YouTube launch, I had wonderful supportive advice from Author and YouTube Expert Gabriel Both, who just launched his new book Further to this, the kindness of strangers has not ceased to motivate and astound me. This YouTube video never would have been possible without the incredible help from Malaysian Filmmaker Zahariz Khuzaimah (@zahariz), who travels the world by horse and bike filming extraordinary episodes for his Malaysian and Singapore TV series; I will need to remind myself to write a whole diary entry about him in future.

To think that only 2 years ago, I would never have anticipated the immense journey I had ahead, building a non-for-profit charity amongst, at that time in 2015, full-time University, a part-time job and various commitments to a range of volunteering opportunities in my local area of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Then, to have the charity transform and grow as I moved to London in 2016 to teach, network and grow as a Charity Founder passionate to make a lasting positive impact in the world.

I have learnt many valuable knowledge, skills and values along this journey, one of which is that if you are passionate about something, truly passionate to your core with a sense of worth and the ability to give to others, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. This hasn’t always been an easy journey, but it has been a worthwhile one. I have become much more confident, and I truly know the vision of THNA now and am so extremely excited to keep experiencing the growth of our supporters, the growth of our members, the growth of our programs and, most importantly, the growth of the people we are empowering.

This is just the beginning. I hope more people are able to hear and see our story, and to then join our journey.

So far, we share our story through these avenues:
