We are a team of passionate volunteers dedicated to making a positive difference in societies across the world (empowering Nepali people or empowering international people to support the Nepali people). Whether in Nepal or internationally, we have THNA members who do what they can to help others.

National and international volunteers make a direct difference on the ground in Nepal, in their local community or use computer technology and Internet connectivity to make a difference from wherever they are.

Whether you have 1 hour free a week or 7 days a week free, you can join our team as a THNA Member and help make a positive difference from wherever you are.

Filmmaker and Film Editor Volunteer Jobs

Are you a whizz with the computer? Are you skilled at Video Making and Editing?

The Help Nepal Appeal is looking for a NEW MEMBER of our team with a super flexible volunteer position as THNA Video Editor!

Even if you have a busy schedule, we seek to have videos edited whenever you have free time available, a couple of hours a week average.

We have a range of videos shot over 4 months in Nepal, and would love to discuss with you how we can make these videos into stories to share on our YouTube Channel; it’s your time to be creative!

We also are looking for a Video Filmmaker! We have an exciting opportunity for a filmmaker IN NEPAL to film our Student Leadership Council launches in the end of April / May 2018 (days flexible).

Film Editor Volunteer Opportunity Criteria:

  1. A high level of expertise in editing footage into an inspirational story.
  2. Works well with others as part of a coherent and supportive team.
  3. Previous experience with filmmaking and editing (preferably 2+ years).
  4. Fluent in Nepali and English.
  5. Has access to high quality editing technology.
  6. Passionate to make a difference for Youth, Women and Special Needs Peoples around the nation.

Filmmaker Volunteer Opportunity Criteria:

  1. A high level of expertise in filming on location during projects.
  2. A high level of expertise in editing footage into an inspirational story.
  3. Willing to cover own costs of transportation and food (we shall try to arrange the lowest possible costs for you).
  4. Fluent in Nepali and English.

  6. Previous experience with filmmaking and editing (preferably 2+ years).

Speech Contest Female Coordinator (Women Empowerment)

Have you ever felt that your voice didn’t matter? Do you want to empower women to realise the strength of their voice by telling their story and creating change through a charity initiative? You may be the right person to JOIN OUR TEAM as our volunteer female Speech Contest Coordinator.

This year, we are launching a Women Empowerment Speech Contest, where the winning female with a transformative charity project idea, between the ages of 18 – 30, will receive ongoing mentorship and a start-up fund for their charity idea. THNA Founder Jody Dontje had the immense honour of winning the Women’s Federation for World Peace Speech Contest in the UK last year. After gaining immense growth as a public speaker and passionate individual from this event, we are now inspired to launch our own speech contest empowering young women in Nepal this June in KTM.

Speech Contest Coordinator Volunteer Opportunity Criteria:

Knowledge

Availability
1) Must be available on selected days during April, May and June 2018 (this is flexible and does not require a set amount of hours per week).
2) Speech Contest will be scheduled for mid-June, must be available to co-ordinate and co-host event.

Volunteer Opportunity Description:
1) Helping to find Sponsors for Speech Contest.
2) Helping to find Mentors and Donors for Speech Contest.
3) Reporting progress / issues / successes with THNA Team and Founders.
4) Meeting with THNA Team and Founders regularly in April, May and June.
5) Assisting with assessing speeches that have been submitted in the First Round.
6) Assisting to conduct phone interviews in the Second Round.
7) Passionately promoting the speech contest online and in person.
8) Managing and Co-hosting the speech contest, held in June.
9) Managing data using Microsoft Office efficiently and effectively.
10) Uploading updated documents onto Google Drive for the team to access.
11) Willing to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged entrepreneurial and community minded women.

Social Media Ambassador

This is a super flexible position that allows you to dedicate whatever time you have available in your schedule to help promote our social media avenues with family, friends and random people you connect with.

Fundraising/Events Manager or Ambassador (Internationally)

This position allows you run fundraising events to support the Nepali people (100% of the money received helps support struggling men, women and children).

Sponsorhip Program Coordinator (Youth Empowerment)

Have you ever felt like you wanted to make more of a difference? Do you believe that every child deserves the opportunity to gain a quality education in a supportive learning environment? You may be the perfect person to lead our Youth Empowerment Sponsorship (YES) Program in Nepal.

We are looking for a passionate (preferably female) individual who wishes to lead youth towards education and hope for the future through communicating with schools, parents, students and team members. You will be given the opportunity to grow within your role with our supportive THNA Team. Are you ready to change the lives of youth across Nepal?

4) 1 Skype call a month with International Team Member Natasha Dontje and Founders Jody Dontje and Melvin Sjerps.
5) Reporting progress / issues / successes with THNA Team and Founders.
6) Feasibility studies in new schools with In-Country Manager and Team.
7) Feasibility interviews with parents who wish their child / children gain sponsorship.
8) Managing data using Microsoft Office efficiently and effectively.
9) Uploading updated documents onto Google Drive for the team to access.
10) Willing to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged youth.

You can be a volunteer MEMBER of our THNA Volunteer Interest Society (where you will be contacted if volunteers are needed on the ground, and will be empowered by other members who share a desire to make a positive difference).

Student Leadership Council Coordinator (Youth Empowerment)

Had you ever wanted to make a change within your school as a student, but didn’t know how? Do you believe in the power of youth who are given the opportunity to be leaders of their community? You may be the perfect person (preferably female) to JOIN OUR TEAM as our Student Leadership Council (SLC) Coordinator!

This year, we are launching MORE Student Leadership Councils across Nepal in low-socioeconomic schools where youth are deeply yearning to make an immense difference, but haven’t been given the opportunity to truly reach their potential. We believe in empowering others, and we believe it is in our youth that the future of sustainable change for Nepal lays. Our SLC Program allows students to grow within the 5 Pillars of Personal and Community Leadership, Financial Responsibility, Environment and Sustainability, Health and Physical Education and Human Rights and Equality.
